There are peaceful walking trails on the property through the forests, as well as a longer hike to the waterfall!  For the cyclists there are great rides on the surrounding farm roads, with a scenic ride over the pass to Dullstroom for the more adventurous!

Keen golfers can book a round at the Ernie Els signature Highland Gate golf course near Dullstroom!

Culinary Treat

Fine Dining paired with Wine and Craft Beer

The in-house chef for The Silver Sixpence wedding venue will be creating exceptional fine dining menus for the CRAFTED Experience weekends.

Special focus will be put on exceptional quality produce sourced from local farms, with the additional touch of having wine and beer pairing suggestions for the dinners.

Guided Fly Fishing

Have the incredible opportunity to learn the art of fly-fishing with Derek Manson.

Derek has been extremely fortunate to have travelled and fly-fished all over the world - He has guided exceptional experiences for guests in Russia, Argentina, England, Norway, Alaska, Seychelles and Australia!

Derek received his Fly Casting and teaching certification in England (Stannic) in 1997, and was one of the first people in South Africa to get this qualification.

Things you will learn:

· Fly casting—beginners to advanced

· Knot tying

· Entomology—selecting the correct fly

· Reading water—finding the best location to fish

· Fighting fish

· Catch and release

We have a fly shop available in The Brewery where you can buy most of your essentials for your fly-fishing experience.

CRAFTED has developed the weekend experience around a unique blend of relaxation and available activities that suit a wide variety of interests.  The weekend is hosted at Cairnfern Lodge - the home of The Silver Sixpence wedding venue - which has an incredible amount to offer:

Friday

Arrival will be from 14:00 from where you will be shown to your room to unpack and unwind.  Welcome drinks will be served from 16:00 in The Brewery, and will include a variety of craft beers on tap—including a selection from The Old Oak Brewery on the property.  For those that wish to wet a line in one of our dams, a guide will be available to accompany you from 16:00 to 18:00.

Dinner will be served in The Great Hall at 19:00.  A wine and craft beer pairing suggestion are included with the fine dining menu.

Saturday

The fly fishing enthusiasts will meet in The Brewery at 6am for a warm beverage and a brief fishing discussion before heading to the dams with the guides.  For the later sleepers, freshly brewed coffee and rusks will be served until 9:00; after which those looking for a relaxed pampering experience, various treatments will be available

Brunch will be served at 10:30 in the great hall.

Drinks and a light snack will be served in The Brewery at 14:30.  The afternoon fly-fishing session will commence after the snack.

For those who would like to attend, there will be sundowners (and whisky tasting as an optional extra) in The Brewery between 18:00 and 19:00.

Dinner will be served at 19:30 in The Great Hall together with the experience of wine and craft beer paring with your meal. For those interested (such as for corporate groups), brief talks can be arranged after dinner in The Brewery related to fly-fishing, beer brewing or business strategy

Sunday

The fly fishing enthusiasts will meet in The Brewery at 6am again for a second early morning at the dams.

Brunch will again be served at 10:30 in the great hall before departure at 12:00
